Beijing Live: What do you think about the consumer market of China, or Beijing, and whats your expectation for the development of Fraser in this market?
Ng Bee Lian: The consumer market remain stable and the market development remain soft .Beijing local economy is seeing the process of recovery and this is really a inspiring and upbeat effect and are expected to drive business expansions.
Beijing Live: With Chinas fast development, to hotel industry, the coming years will be full of opportunities and challenges. Do you think, to Fraser, it is an opportunity more that a challenge, or a challenge more than an opportunity?
Ng Bee Lian: This is a highly competitive environment; I read it this way, challenges in 2009 become opportunities in 2010. The biggest challenge in 2009 was to explore ways which we could maintain or increase the occupancy in a shrinking market. We were all forced to think harder and stay positive.
The economic downturn certainly took its toll, many areas of the travel and hotel industry are seeing signs of rebound in 2010 described as an important transitional year.
2010 Fraser Residence CBD East-Beijing number one focus will still be guest services. The pressure will continue to be a major challenge heading into 2010 and with this challenges, 2010 will be a year of opportunity as well. Many companies are looking forward to growth too.
